The Little Things

observation |ˌäbzərˈvā sh ən|nounthe action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information
All the pieces matter.                                           - Det. Lester Freamon from The Wire
We must give attention to detail in order to achieve a goal. A collection of the small things create large and magnificent masterpieces. Our lives consist of moments that shape our way of thinking. Our experiences makes us who we are. Everything that has happened in life has led us to this moment. How do you feel about it? I know Ted Williams feels overwhelmed, last week he was homeless and pan handling, now he is getting jobs left and right, using his of voice, making radio announcements and news spots. Kanye West's mother placed in many artistic venues, and though the "Monster" video is under scrutiny because of its dark tones and misogynistic scenes, he finds the art of it beautiful. The joy in the little things is that there is an over abundance of them and we can reflect on all of them. We can observe what each meant to our overall success in surviving to get here.
Yesterday I turned 26. I love my mindset, my activities, and my life. I could choose to regret decisions I made but what does that do for me in the future. I can also learn from decisions I made, because no matter how small it is, there is a lesson in everything. All the pieces matter, they make up a life tapestry so beautiful that you must pause for a moment and say, "I'm still alive."
